Sedation “Sleep” Dentistry

WHY CHOOSE A SEDATION DENTISTRY?

Many dentists administer dental sedation, but only 1% receive extensive sedation training. Dr. Jahromi has undergone this training and is highly qualified to provide safe sedation dentistry.

The Desert Dream Dentistry team is passionate about giving you a dental experience that you enjoy. Dental sedation can comfort you and put your mind at ease regarding dental appointments and procedures.

LAUGHING GAS

Laughing gas is another convenient form of conscious sedation. When patients choose laughing gas they won’t have to remember to take a pill before their appointment.

With sedation dentistry, a breathing mask will be placed over your nose. The gas is mixed with oxygen. As you breathe laughing gas in and out, you will slowly relax.

laughing gas will allow you to be anxiety-free during your procedure. Once your dentist removes your laughing gas mask, the effects will quickly wear off so you are able to drive home.

CONSCIOUS SEDATION WITH PILLS

Conscious sedation involves a medication called Triazolam ( a relative to Valium) that is taken 1 hour before your visit. Triazolam will quiet your mind and reduce your stress before and during your procedure.

Patients feel confident when they choose oral conscious sedation. They usually drift in and out of sleep and are able to wake up in order to respond to their doctor’s questions and commands. At the same time, they feel completely worry-free.

Our conscious sedation medication has almost no side effects. It is also unlikely that Triazolam will interact poorly with any other medications you are currently taking. You will need to have a driver to bring you to and from your appointment.

IV SEDATION

For patients who want to be completely asleep during their dental procedures, we also offer IV sedation administered by a board certified Anesthesiologist. Here you will be sleeping during the entire procedure and wake feeling rested and relaxed.

With the advanced technology at Desert Dream, you won’t have any concerns about dental sedation. During your sedated procedure, we will carefully watch your heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels. Thanks to our computer technology, we will instantly know if your body needs more or less dental sedation.

Thousands of patients have used dental sedation to improve their dental visits. If you’re interested in the comfort that sedation dentistry can provide, call us today at Desert Dream Dentistry.
